Scanner Terms & Limitations
Last updated July 26th 2026 · Applies to all scan results
These terms apply to the NESTOR LOGIC compliance scanner and to every result it produces. Please read them before relying on a scan. The scanner is a useful signal — it is not a legal opinion, a certification, or a substitute for professional review.
What the scanner does
The scanner reviews publicly accessible pages of a website and produces an automated, point-in-time assessment that flags likely issues in areas such as privacy disclosures and web accessibility. It is a triage tool, meant to help you decide where to look first.
What it reads
The scanner reads publicly accessible pages only. It does not sign in, does not access private or authenticated areas, does not read anything behind a form or paywall, and does not modify the site it is looking at.
What it is not
Please read this part carefully
A scan result is not a legal opinion, not legal advice, and not a certification that any website complies with any law. Running a scan does not create a solicitor-client or attorney-client relationship. A clean result does not mean a site is compliant, and a flagged result does not mean it is unlawful.
Accuracy and coverage
No automated tool detects every issue. In web accessibility particularly, automated testing typically identifies only a portion of potential barriers — commonly in the range of 30–40% — and cannot judge matters that require a human, such as whether alternative text is actually meaningful, or whether a page can be completed end-to-end with a keyboard or screen reader. A complete assessment requires manual review by a qualified person. Results describe a site as it was at the moment of the scan and may not reflect later changes.
No guarantee against complaints or enforcement
The scanner is designed to help you reduce exposure and keep a documented, good-faith record of what you have addressed. It does not guarantee compliance and does not prevent complaints, demand letters, regulatory action or litigation.
Scanning sites you do not own
Where the scanner assesses a website you do not own, it does so using publicly available information. NESTOR LOGIC is not affiliated with the sites it scans, and a result is not a statement about that site's owner beyond the observations made.
Your responsibility
You are responsible for how you use scan results, for verifying them, and for getting professional legal and accessibility review before making any decision that carries legal consequences.
Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, NESTOR LOGIC is not liable for loss arising from reliance on scan results. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for intentional or gross fault or for bodily or moral injury.
Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Québec and the federal laws of Canada applicable there. Questions: hello@nestorlogic.ai
